Abstract. The studies were carried out to study the aftereffect of long-term application of mineral, organic, and organic and mineral fertilizer systems on the yield and quality of oat grain, as well as on the agrochemical properties of the soil. The stationary field experiment was established in 1978 in the Smolensk region. The experimental design included a reduced sample of 1/27 of a full (6 x 6 x 6 x 6) four-factor (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium mineral fertilizers, six-dose manure) experiment. The paper presents the results of the studies on the aftereffect of fertilizers at the cultivation of Skakun variety of oats in a grain-grass rotation in 2015–2016. The yields were represented in 48 variants; agrochemical soil properties and product quality were represented in the most contrasting variants as without fertilizers (control), N90, P90, K90, N90P90K90, manure 9 t/ha, N30P30K30 + manure 3 t/ha, N60P60K60 + manure 6 t/ha, N90P90K90 + 9 t/ha manure, N120P120K120 + manure 12 t/ha, and N150P150K150 + manure 15 t/ha. The most stable aftereffect was registered in the organic and mineral system: N120P120K120 + manure 12 t/ha against the background of N45 as a top dressing. The yield of oats in this variant was 2.75 t/ha that was 55.3% higher than in the control. The crude protein content in oats grain grown in this variant exceeded the control by 1.94%; the weight of 1000 grains exceeded the control by 12%. Against this background, the soil in the arable layer at the end of the fifth crop rotation was characterized by pH(KCl) at the level of 5.1; the humus content was 1.20%. The systematic long-term use of organic and mineral fertilizers did not lead to the accumulation of heavy metals in the soil and plant products.

Keywords: fertilizer systems; aftereffect; soil fertility; oats; productivity; grain quality.
