Abstract. We investigated the possibility of increasing the productivity of subreplacement young cattle by introducing Primasan vitamin-mineral feed additive into the diet. The experiment was conducted in 2018 in the Kemerovo region on 20 calves of Black-and-White breed at the age of from six to nine months. The animals were divided according to the principle of analogue pairs into two groups of 10 animals each. The selection parameters included age, gender, origin, and live weight. The calves from the control group received hay, haylage, and concentrated feed. The calves from the experimental group were additionally fed with Primasan in the amount of 150 g per animal per day. The daily diet of calves contained 38.0 MJ of metabolic energy, 5.0 kg of dry matter, 540.0 g of digestible protein, 990.0 g of crude fiber, 485.0 g of sugar, 36.0 g of calcium, 25.0 g of phosphorus, and 125.0 mg of carotene. The inclusion of Primasan into the diet significantly increased the absolute live weight gain by 7.7 kg (3.09%), the average daily weight gain by 88 g (9.69%), the gross weight gain by 63.0 kg (8.57%), blood calcium content by 5.3% (0.16 mmol/L), phosphorus content by 4.3% (0.08 mmol/L), and vitamin A content by 4.2% (0.11 umol/L), compared with the control group. The cost of 1 kg of live weight gain decreased by 2.4%, or 5.2 rubles. The profitability level of breeding of young cattle from the experimental group increased, compared with the control group (18.8%) by 3.3%.
