Abstract. The studies were conducted in the forest-steppe area of the Ob region of Western Siberia in 2014–2016. The purpose was to study the influence of forecrops (potato, oats, brown mustard), mineral fertilizers (N40P40K80), and protectants (Prestizh, Kruizer, Maksim) on the number of Colorado potato beetles and the yield of early potato ‘Agata’. The soil was medium loamy leached chernozem. The application of fertilizers led to an increase in the number of pests, whereas the cultivation of potato after oats and brown mustard led to their decrease, in comparison with the option of monocrop. Protectants Prestizh and Kruizer were the most effective against the phytophage (1.80–2.16 pcs/plant). Optimization of mineral nutrition in the pretreatment options increased the number of beetles, in comparison with the options where fertilizers were applied and crop protection agents were not used (2.02–9.19 pcs/plant), up to 2.31–12.01 pcs/plant. The effectiveness of Prestizh and Kruizer did not depend on the forecrop. Maksim significantly reduced the number of the Colorado potato beetles to 8.49 pcs/plant when growing potato after mustard and up to 10.65 pcs/plant when growing potato after oats, in comparison with monocrop (12.62 pcs/plant). The application of mineral fertilizers in potato field after oats increased the pest population to 6.59 pcs/plant. In the case of non-application of fertilizers, it was 4.64 pcs/plant. In the monocrop, it reduced to 5.75 pcs/plant. In the case of non-application of fertilizers, it was 6.78 pcs/plant. The application of mineral fertilizers in the potato field with brown mustard as the forecrop hardly reduced the number of pests. The use of mineral fertilizers ensured an increase in the crop productivity by 2.5–3.9 t/ha after all forecrops. On average, protectants significantly increased it by 1.7–11.2 t/ha. The protectants containing an insecticide, in combination with the application of mineral fertilizers in the potato field, contributed to an increase in the harvest of tubers by 4.6–4.8 t/ha.
