Abstract. Stable health is one of the main conditions for the long-term use of animals. The purpose of the research was to study the influence of external factors (season and keeping method) on the indicators of natural resistance of Holstein cows. The work was performed in the Moscow region on farms with the loose and tethered keeping of animals in the period from 2016 to 2020. Blood analyses were taken in the winter, autumn and summer, including in winter and summer for animals kept tethered (n=20) and loose (n=20). The content of IgG and IgM in the blood serum was determined by the method of simple radial immunodiffusion; by whole blood, we determined cellular factors of immunity. In the summer we noted an increased content of eosinophils in the blood of animals (by 4.58%, p was less than 0.05), compared with the autumn; in the autumn we noted an increased phagocytic activity (by 13.07%, p was less than 0.05), compared with the winter; in the winter we noted an increased IgG content (by 4.58 mg/mL, p was less than 0.001) compared with the summer. We did not observe any change in the influence of technological factors (keeping method) on the primary and secondary link of immunity (concentrations of IgM and IgG) by seasons (winter, summer). At the same time, the concentration of IgG in blood serum of cows kept loose was higher than in blood serum of cows kept tethered by 12.1%; the variability of this trait in the first group was lower than in the second group and amounted to 22.0% and 33.5%, respectively.

Keywords: cows; resistance; season; phagocytic activity; eosinophils; immunoglobulins; analysis of variance.
