Abstract. The purpose of the study was to determine the effectiveness of a complex mineral and vitamin feed additive (CMVFA) in the diet of lactating cows. The experiments were conducted in 2019–2020 under conditions of the Republic of Bashkortostan with three groups of first-calf heifers of the Black-and-White breed; each group included 15 cows matched by the pair-analogue method. The animals from the control group received the basic diet (BD) adopted on the farm; the animals from the first group received BD+120 g of CMVFA per cow according to recipe No. 1; the animals from the second group received BD + 120 g of CMVFA per cow according to recipe No. 2. The content of calcium, phosphorus, sulphur, manganese, copper, zinc, and cobalt in BD was below the norm by 16.12, 3.63, 25.6, 11.47, 21.15, 7.31, 29.30%. For the production of 1 kg of milk, the cows in the control group consumed 8.06 MJ of metabolic energy, 104.0 g of crude protein, and 74.2 g of digestible protein; in the first experimental group the metabolic energy consumption was less than in the control by 5.09%; in the second experimental group it was less by 8.06%; the consumption of crude protein was less by 5.19% and 8.19%, respectively; the consumption of digestible protein was less by 5.12% and 8.15%, respectively. Additional milk yield from cows from the first group was 151.6 kg in the amount of 2,489 rubles; the indicators in the second group were 250.6 kg and 4248.0 rubles, respectively. The cost of milk in the first group decreased, compared with the control, by 0.72 rubles; in the second group it decreased by 1.21 rubles; the profitability of production increased by 3.71% and 9.91%, respectively.

Keywords: additive; natural zeolite; balance of minerals; lactating cows; cost of gross products; prime cost; profit; profitability.
