Abstract. In recent years, in the Krasnodar Territory, it has been registered an increase in the number of insect infestations. The urbanized environment acts as a place of settlement and acclimatization of adventive species. Some of them can subsequently harm cultivated and ornamental plants on different scales. The purpose of the study was to identify common species of phytophagous insects and their food items on cultural and ornamental plants in Krasnodar and its environs. Observations were conducted from April to October in 2018–2020. The objects were green spaces in the streets and courtyards of the city, in the Kosenko Botanical Garden, in suburban agroecosystems on the educational and experimental farm Kuban at the Kuban State Agrarian University, as well as forest parks and wastelands. We conducted route surveys and visual inspection of plants, took samples for further study in laboratory conditions. We determined the degree of colonization of tree and shrub plants by phytophages. We identified 22 common species in 38 plant genera belonging to 19 families. The most harmful ecological and trophic groups were 18 species of openly living sucking insects. We identified 16 species of phytosanitary objects that damage ornamental plants in green spaces, including one gall-forming agent (Cynips quercusfolii), three species of gall mites (Eriophyes tiliae, Aceria tristriata, and Aceria erinea), representatives of three aphid families (Aphidoidea, Chaitophoridae, and Drepanosiphidae), and Anguis fragilis of the family Psyllidae. Invasive species C. ohridella, H. halys, M. pruinosa, and C. perspectalis have adapted to urban conditions and pose a significant threat to ornamental and park plantations.

Keywords: monitoring; dendrophilous insects; invasive species; entomophage; urban green spaces; urban landscape.
