Abstract. The investigation aimed to identify honeysuckle varieties promising for industrial cultivation. The experiments were conducted in 2015–2019 in the city of Barnaul. The study objects were five varieties bred at Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia: Berel (control), Barkhat, Kasmala, Yumis, and Viking. The total content of bioflavonoids and individual fractions of phenolic compounds in ethanol extracts of fruits was determined by spectrophotometric and colourimetric methods. The average yield of honeysuckle varieties over the years of the study was 3.1–5.4 t/ha. Viking and Berel varieties were the best in terms of this indicator. Their yield was 5.2 t/ha and 5.4 t/ha, respectively; their maximum yield in the experiment was registered in 2019 – it was 6.7 t/ha and 6.2 t/ha, respectively. The average weight of fruits varied from 0.8 g to 1.4 g. Viking variety (2.3 g) was the most large-fruited. The optimal parameters of crown habit were registered in Berel variety. The best taste parameters (4.8 points) were characteristic of Kasmala variety. Yumis variety was characterized by the strongest fruit attachment to the stalk – the tearaway force was 159.0 g. The total bioflavonoid content in fruits varied in the range of 986.0–1,595.0 mg/100 g and averaged 1,239.9 mg/100 g. The best in terms of this indicator was Yumis variety. In addition, Viking (1,272.5 mg/100 g), Berel (1,288.0 mg/100 g), and Kasmala (1,289.8 mg/100 g) varieties were recognized as sources of high flavonoid content. The results of the study indicate the special value and prospects of the varieties Yumis, Viking, Berel, Kasmala, and Barkhat as varieties with high-quality fruits suitable for industrial cultivation.
