Abstract. The study aimed to reveal the effect of growth regulators on the productivity and viability of potato during storage. For this, in 2018–2020 we carried out two field experiments on dark chestnut soil in the steppe zone of the Republic of Khakassia. The study object was varieties Krasnoyarsky Ranny and Tuleevsky belonging to different ripeness groups. The first experiment provided for the treatment of tubers with growth regulators Agat-25 Super (135 g/t), Ribav-Extra (1 mL/t), and Epin-Extra (20 mL/t) before planting; the second experiment provided for double spraying of plants (in the budding phase and 10–12 days after the first experiment) with the listed preparations at doses of 100 g/ha, 3 mL/ha, and 80 mL/ha, respectively. The control was treated with water. The harvested crop was stored at a temperature of 3–6 C and relative humidity of 85–95%. Growth regulators increased yield, compared with the control, by 6.6–19.8%. The greatest yield increase for the early-ripening variety Krasnoyarsky Ranny (3.1 t/ha) and the mid-ripening variety Tuleevsky (4.7 t/ha) was observed when plants were sprayed with Epin-Extra during the growing season. The action of growth regulators continued during the storage. Pre-planting treatment with all studied preparations slightly reduced the natural loss of tubers of both varieties by 0.1–0.3%. The reductions in technical waste (down to 0.9%) and losses from diseases (down to 1.6%) were more significant. The greatest effect from the use of growth regulators was recorded in the case of treatment with Agat-25 Super – the loss of tubers from dry rot for Krasnoyarsky Ranny variety decreased by 0.3–0.6% depending on the treatment method; for Tuleevsky variety it decreased by 0.1–0.4%; the number of tubers with signs of common scab decreased by 0.5–0.6% and 0.3–0.4%, respectively.
