Abstract. The investigation aimed to study the effect of various dosages of Vitaflor feed additive as a part of mixed feed for young geese on the dynamics of live weight and meat productivity. The work was carried out on the basis of the farm «Popov S.N.» located in the Kurgan region on young geese – hybrids of Shadrinskaya and Italian White breeds. In addition to the basic diet, the birds of the first experimental group were given Vitaflor at a dose of 250 g/t of feed. The second experimental group received 500 g/t of feed. The gross and average daily gain in live weight of goslings in the control was less than in the experimental groups by 3.38–5.25%; pre-slaughter weight was less by 2.91–5.24%; weight of half-gutted carcass was less by 3.82–6.56%; the half-gutted carcass yield was 0.70–1.00% lower; weight of gutted carcass was less by 4.61–7.91%; gutted carcass yield was 0.97–1.49% lower. The mass of edible parts in the carcasses in the control group was less than in the experimental groups by 5.26–8.76%, while the mass of inedible parts in the carcass in the control group was higher than in the experimental groups by 0.18–1.18%. The mass of muscle tissue of the experimental groups was higher than in the control group by 8.01–13.28%; the mass of the pectoral muscles was 7.00–12.42% higher; the femoral muscle mass was higher by 7.34–14.68%; leg muscle mass 9.80–12.32% higher. The protein content in the muscle tissue of young geese of the experimental groups was higher than in the control one by 0.32–0.56%; the energy nutritional value 1.14–1.83% higher. In general, the best values of the studied parameters were observed in young geese, the feed of which included the probiotic feed additive Vitaflor at the dose of 500 g/t of feed.
Keywords: young geese; Vitaflor additive; live weight; meat productivity; slaughter results; chemical composition of muscle tissue.
