Abstract. The studies aimed to determine the species composition of the pathogenic microflora of white and blue lupine seeds to improve their phytosanitary and sowing qualities and optimise the cultivation technology. The work was carried out in 2016–2021 in the Bryansk region. The object of research was the seeds and seedlings of white lupine (early-ripening varieties Michurinskij, Piligrim and late-ripening Alyj parus) and blue lupine (early-ripening varieties Vitjaz’ and Brjanskij kormovoj, late-ripening Belorozovyj-144). Germination and infection of seeds with pathogenic microflora was determined by the method of paper rolls. The microflora was identified by the type of conidia in a light microscope. Seeds of early-ripening varieties of lupine Michurinskij and especially Vitjaz’ were distinguished by a smaller amount of pathogenic infection, compared with late-ripening varieties Alyj parus and Belorozovyj-144. Infection of seeds of early-ripening varieties of Colletotrichum lupini was 0.8%; Fusarium spp. – 1.2%; Sclerotinia sclerotiorum – 0.8%; Pseudomonas lupini – 1.4% and Botritis cinerea – 1.9%. On the seeds of late-ripening varieties Belorozovyj-144 and Alyj Parus, the pathogenic infection was significantly higher: anthracnose 1.0-2.6%, fusarium – 1.1-1.4%, alternaria – 1.7-2.5%, bacteriosis – 1.3-3.3%, grey and white mould – 1.2-1.4% and 0.7-1.4%, respectively. High reliable correlation coefficients (r) were found between the amount of precipitation in July and the content of infection in the seeds of white and blue lupine: anthracnose – 0.83- 0.84 and 0.84-0.87; fusariosis – 0.86-0.89 and 0.81-0.86; alternaria – 0.87-0.90 and 0.90-0.93; grey mould - 0.88- 0.89 and 0.98 and white mould - 0.92-0.95 and 0.88- 0.93, respectively. In white lupine varieties Michurinskij and Alyj Parus, a close definitive correlation (r=0.84 and r=0.82) between anthracnose seed infection and August precipitation was established.
