Abstract. The studies aimed to evaluate collection samples of oil flax in terms of fibre and seed yields, as well as adaptability parameters under the conditions of the North-West of Russia. The experiments were carried out in 2015-2017 in soddy-podzolic soil, characterised by a high content of mobile phosphorus (P2O5 – 234-256 mg/kg) and an average supply of potassium (K2O – 142-158 mg/kg). The reaction of the soil solution was medium acid (рНkcl 4.63-4.91). The material for the study was 37 collection samples of oil flax, the standard was the variety Voronezhskij 1308/138. The most favourable conditions for the formation of high yields of flax seeds and flax fibre were in 2017 (Ij = +0.064 and +0.15, respectively). The highest yield of flaxseeds was observed in the genotypes LM 98 (Russia), Ilim (Belarus), Flanders (Canada), AGT 302/10, IDG 4102, AGT 1538/07 and AGT 1568/07 (the Czech Republic) with a trait level of 104.7-131.7 g/m2, exceeding the standard Voronezhskij 1308/138 by 10.5-38.9%. An increased yield of flax fibre under the conditions of the region was found in the samples of Vitagold (Netherlands), Recital, Raciol, AGT 1535/07, AGT 981/05, AGT 987/02 (the Czech Republic) and the standard, which under favourable growing conditions (2017) amounted to 87-103 g/m2. According to the results of an integral assessment of oil flax samples, including seed and fibre yields, as well as adaptive properties – stress resistance (Y1+Y2), genetic flexibility and compensatory ability ((Y1+Y2)/2) and stability (d), the highest indicators had Recital, AGT 981/05 and AGT 987/02. This is a valuable source material for oil flax breeding aimed at creating dual-use varieties (seeds, fibre) under the conditions of the North-West of Russia.
