Abstract. Modern methods of mathematical analysis make it possible to increase the accuracy and objectivity of assessing the breeding value of animals. It becomes possible to determine the impact on the breeding value of those genealogical groups, for example families, the role of which was previously not considered reliably enough due to the small amount of data. The research was carried out to select the most objective and accurate version of the model for a comprehensive assessment of the breeding value of genealogical groups (families, lines, fathers) using the BLUP method for further use in breeding for sources from the maternal and paternal side. Three models were considered: the simultaneous influence of the father, line, family; father and family; line and family. As a result of multivariate analysis of variance, the strength of the influence of families (0.03), lines (0.004), fathers (0.25) on milk productivity (milk yield for 305 days) of cows was clarified. The influence of the calving year on milk yield was 0.46, the age of the animal in lactation – 0.08, and the calving season was 0.003. The correlation between breeding scores in different models for fathers was 0.53; lines – 0.62; families – 0.12-0.97. The most promising for further work and analysis of genealogical groups was the “line-family” model. Its use provides a higher estimation accuracy. The error in forecasting breeding value for lines in this model decreased by 14-40%, while for families it varied from -2 to +7%, that is, insignificantly. The use of a model that considers the simultaneous influence of the father, lineage and family is acceptable, but the accuracy of the assessment of genealogical groups is reduced.

Keywords: cattle; milk production; BLUP; family; line; father.
