Abstract. The research aimed to study the effect of organic fertilizer "molasses residues" on the agrochemical parameters of the soil and the quality of planting material for apple trees in the mother plantation and nursery. The work was carried out in the Tambov region in 2018-2021. The experimental design included the following options: without fertilizers (control); barda once 24 t/ha; barda twice at 24 t/ha (48 t/ha); barda once 48 t/ha; barda twice at 48 t/ha (96 t/ha). Objects of study: clonal rootstocks of apple trees 54-118 and 62-396, seedlings of apple varieties Veteran and Rozhdestvenskoe. The scheme of planting the mother plantation 150 cm × 30 cm, the nursery – 100 cm × 20 cm. Repetition – three times. The soil was leached chernozem. Planting material was evaluated in accordance with GOST R 53135-2008. Agrochemical studies were carried out according to generally accepted methods. The application of 48 t/ha and 96 t/ha of barda had no significant effect on the nutrient regime of the soil, however, at a dose of 96 t/ha, it led to an increase in exchange acidity by 0.3 pH units and hydrolytic acidity by 0.3 mmol/100 g of soil, which necessitates periodic liming. In the mother plantation and nursery, the greatest effect was provided by the use of barda at 48 t/ha twice (96 t/ha): the rooting of the rootstock 62-396 increased from 3.1 to 3.7 points, the number of standard layers – from 80.2 to 141.5 thousand units/ha. Plants in the nursery formed annual growths of more than 150 cm and boles with a diameter of more than 10 mm, which makes it possible to obtain standard planting material.

Keywords: apple tree (Malus); mother plantation; nursery; organic fertilizer; molasses residues; clonal rootstocks; seedlings.
