Abstract. Research aimed to develop a recipe for a protein-vitamin-mineral concentrate (PVMC) for lambs and test it on crossbred young sheep. PVMC is a crushed homogeneous mixture of high-protein, mineral and biologically active feed components. 1 kg of the experimental concentrate contains 1.2 feed units, 12.1 MJ of metabolic energy, the share of crude protein is 29.83%, digestible protein – 24.32%. The lambs were taken from the mothers at 2 months of age. Animals of the control group throughout the experiment received a complete compound feed, in the experimental groups part of it was replaced with the developed PVMC in different quantities, taking into account their age (2-4 months, 4-6 months, 6-8 months). In the 1st experimental group, the share of PVMC in the diet during these periods was reduced from 30 to 20%, in the 2nd – from 40 to 30%. At the age of 4 months, the individuals of the 1st experimental group exceeded the lambs of the 2nd experimental group in live weight by 0.5 kg, the control group – by 1.3 kg (P ≥ 0.99). A similar situation persisted at the age of 6 months, the difference reached 1.3 kg (P ≥ 0.95) and 2.7 kg (P ≥ 0.999), respectively. By 8 months, the live weight of the lambs of the 1st group was higher than that of the individuals in the control group, by 3.6 kg, and compared to the 2nd experimental group, by 1.8 kg. The replacement of a part of the complete mixed fodder PVMC, developed on the basis of local feed resources, contributed to an increase in the intensity of growth of early-weaned lambs of the 1st experimental group for the entire growing period, compared with the control, by 13.6%. The optimal replacement of a part of the complete mixed feed with the developed PVMC in lambs at the age of 2-4 months can be considered 30%, 4-6 months – 25%, 6-8 months – 20 %.
