Abstract. The studies were carried out to assess the productivity and biochemical composition of modern introduced varieties of sweet-berry honeysuckle (Lonicera caerulea Rehd.). The work was carried out in 2018-2021 under the conditions of the Tambov region. The objects of research were the varieties Sinya Ptitsa (control), Malvina, Omega, Pushkinskaya, Slavyanka, Snegir, Suvenir. The antioxidant value of the berries was determined by the amperometric method on a Tsvet Yauza 01-AA device (JSC NPO Khimavtomatika, Russia) according to a calibration curve (standard – gallic acid and quercetin). The average weight of berries varied from 0.5 g (Sinya Ptitsa variety) to 1.6 g (Suvenir variety). Introduced varieties surpassed the control variety Sinya Ptitsa in terms of this indicator. Weak shedding (1.1-2.0 points) was typical for the varieties Malvina, Omega, Pushkinskaya, Snegir and Suvenir. Over the years of research, the productivity of the studied varieties ranged from 5.2 to 10.6 t/ha. Among the high-yielding large-fruited genotypes, varieties Suvenir, Malvina and Slavyanka were distinguished. In fresh berries of the studied varieties, the content of ascorbic acid was 34-107 mg%. Varieties Suvenir (80 mg%) and Slavyanka (107 mg%) were selected as sources of vitamin C. A high level of accumulation of flavanols was characteristic of the varieties Slavyanka (290 mg%), Omega (293 mg%) and Pushkinskaya (324 mg%). The highest content of antioxidants in fresh berries was observed in the Pushkinskaya variety (512.1 mg/100 g), the lowest content was in the Sinya Ptitsa variety (314.7 mg/100 g), the difference was 62.7%. A recipe and a technological scheme to produce low-calorie confiture from the fruits of promising varieties of honeysuckle, which have a high antioxidant value, have been developed.
Keywords: blue honeysuckle (Lonicera caerulea Rehd.); average weight of berries; yield; ascorbic acid; flavanols; antioxidant value; preserved fruit.
