Abstract. The research aimed to study the effect of various dosages of an adaptogen of animal origin on the meat productivity of Bestuzhev bulls. The experiment was carried out under the conditions of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Individuals of group I consumed only the basic diet adopted on the farm (control). Calf bulls of the II experimental group were added to the main diet drone homogenate in the form of tincture at the rate of 0.005 ml, group III – 0.01 ml, group IV – 0.015 ml per 1 kg of body weight. The effectiveness of the test component was determined by a set of indicators such as live weight, its absolute and average daily gain, relative growth rate, age coefficient of live weight increase, as well as linear measurements and body build indices. At the age of 18 months, the young animals of group III surpassed all their peers: group I – by 22.1 kg, group II – by 9.5 kg, group IV – by 1.7 kg; in terms of absolute increase in live weight over the period of experiment – by 22.1, 9.4 and 1.8 kg. In the period of 6-9 and 9-12 months in bulls of II-IV groups, the relative growth rate increased, compared with control peers, by 0.8-1.3%; 12-15 and 15-18 months – by 0.7-1.2%; and for the entire period of experiment (6-18 months) by 2.4-4.1%. The coefficient of increase in live weight by the final period in young animals of groups I and II was 1.18; III and IV groups – 1.19. Young animals of all groups were characterised by a good development of articles and physique indices, but more pronounced meat forms were observed in young animals of the experimental groups. Drone homogenate proved to be an adaptogen with the best effect at a dosage of 0.01 ml per 1 kg of animal live weight.
