Summary. One of the main targets in the reducing of energy expenses. It means the decreasing the number of fulfilled operations, the stages of transportation and applying of energy saving technologies. The main of our work in the investigation of cargo capacity influence on separate components and total energy expenses during the agricultural cargo transit and the mathematical model was carried out to estimate the influence of technical exploitation index of transportation on total energy expenses. We experimentally studied soybean transportation by KamAZ-5510 with semi-trailer OdAZ-9370(q=19,235t), KamAZ-5320 (q=8t) and ZIL-130 (q=5,800t) according to "elevator consumer" scheme for estimation of the cargo capacity influence on separate components and total energy expenses. There were following conditions: asphalt concrete covering of the road and good state of it; category of roads – IV; free movement, motor run coefficient β = 0,5; distance - L=20 km; cargo capacity coefficient γ = 1; average time of loading and unloading for turnover t=0,5h, identical road conditions; and good weather; the length of transportation – 8 hours. The investigation showed that above 70% of total energy expenses are direct energy expenses. The decreasing of direct energy expenses considerably depends on minimization of transport outlays due to reduce of fuel expense. The total energy expenses increase from 2,27МДж for KamAZ-5510 with semi-trailer OdAZ-9370(q=19,235t) to 5,6МДж for ZIL-130 (q=5,800t) when we decreased the cargo capacity of vehicles
