Summary. 300 samples of spring barley varieties of different ecologic geographic origin of the All-Ruassia Institute of Plant-growing collection and the competitive testing varieties, according to the complex of their economic valuable traits, developed in Primorsky Scientific Research Institute of agriculture of Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, were studied. As a source of useful features and properties recommends using a dedicated ecological plasticity and stable sortspecimens: Kimberly (USA), Erofei (Russia), Sobolek (Russia), Berezina (Belarus), Mazurka (Netherlands), Erofei (Russia), Samson (Canada), Patty (France), Chernihiv 90 (Ukraine). High stress tolerance in contrasting growing conditions characterized by sort Erofei (Russia), which has the lowest coefficient of variation of productivity per plant (CV = 12,3%). Maximum homeostasis (Hom) was observed in sort Etienne (Canada) – 13.6. As a result of usage of best sortspecimens in selection of summer barley there was developed selection material, which is being studied in all phases of the selection process. In the KSI allocated over three years of study the most productive varieties of summer barley: Primorsky 153, Primorsky 160, Primorsky 167, Primorsky 174, Primorsky 179 (with the addition to the standart 10-20 % and a yield of 4,0-4,5 t / ha),steady against stressful factors of environment.
