EFFECTIVENESS OF GLAUCONITE CONCENTRATE APPLYING ON POTATO CROPS IN THE SOUTHERN URALS REGION

Summary. Productivity of potatoes in the forest-steppe of the South Ural region doesn’t exceed 15 t-ha. Agricultural science is the search for alternative sources of minerals to increase yield and quality of potato tubers and thereby significantly reducing the deficit in the local mineral fertilizers. The purpose of research conducted in 2007-2009 years was studying the influence of glauconite concentrate on productivity and quality of potato tubers in the forest-steppe zone of the Southern Urals region. Results of field experiment have shown the positive influence on the development of the assimilation of the leaf surface, and as a consequence on the yield and quality of potato tubers under local preplant application of glauconite concentrate at a dose of 2 t-ha. Potato yield of variety Gubernator increased in average at 4,04 t-ha, Nevsky – 3,48 t-ha, Spiridon – 3,34 t-ha, starchy tubers increased at 0,41 % , 0, 49 and 0,26 %, fee starch per 1 hectare – 0,78, 0,52 and 0,55 t-ha. Efficiency of glauconite concentrate implementation increased on the basis of mineral nutrition N135R180K180 – for Gubernator variety and N90R120K120 – Nevsky and Spiridon varieties. Application of glauconite concentrate on this basis of mineral nutrition provides the highest yield (45,46 44,78 and 48,03 t-ha), including an additionally 5,41, 5,46 and 4,73 t-ha due to application of glauconite. In the forest-steppe zone of the Southern Ural region potato yield is mainly depended on the level of mineral nutrition (contribution factor – 44,4%) and variety (28,4 %). The proportion of productivity variation due to the usege of glauconite is 23,9 %.
