Summary. The article summarizes the information about the dynamics of mobile phosphorus in arable lands of Nizhny Novgorod region for 50 years. The region is located in the zone of sod-podzol and grey forest soils, which due to their origin are low in mobile phosphates (45…59 mg/kg soil). As a result of the increase in chemicalization in the nineties of the last century and growth in saturation of mineral fertilizers up to 142 kg a.i./ha and organic fertilizers up to 5.6 t/ha the provision of arable soils with mobile forms of this element rose to 156 mg/kg soil, which corresponded to the optimum level to form high yields of grain crops. The reduction of phosphorite and organic fertilizer application since 2000 and decrease in phosphorus portion in used mineral fertilizers to 3…4 kg a.i./ha led to the reduction of the available forms of phosphorus in arable soils by 27 mg/kg soil for the last 15 years.
Keywords: arable soils, mobile phosphorus, fertilizers, productivity.
