Summary. Researches were conducted in 2012-2013 to study the effectiveness of pectin polysaccharides applying on growth, yield and quality of potato in the conditions of the Komi Republic. Soil – sod-podzol, content of humus– 2,8%. Object of research – homologated potato variety Nevsky (mid-early). As regulators of growth and development the following pectic polysaccharides were researched: lemnan – pectin from Lemna minor L. and silenan – pectin from callus tissue of Silene vulgaris (M.). Lemnan is an apiogalacturonan type of pectin: the side chains of single and 1,5-linked residues of D-apiose join to the main carbohydrate chain of α-1,4-D-galacturonan with included residues of α-1,2-linked L-ramnopyranose in a small amount. Silenan refers to the type of ramnogalacturonan I (RG-I) with a high content of the side chains, consisting of arabinan, galactan and arabinogalactan. Preparations were applied on 50…80 g seed potato tubers with the at the rate 10 ml per 1 liter of water for 7 days before planting for 5 minutes and in the phase of 3-5 leaves and tuber formation – 10 ml of preparations per 1 l of water, consumption rate of the working fluid – 300 l-ha. It is known that pectin substances have a significant influence on the rate of germination of seeds and growth of seedlings. Application of pectin polysaccharides as growth regulators helped to improve early potato yield by 32,5...51,2%, compared to the control. Increase the total crop using preparations was 7,3… 9,3 t per hectare (38,0 ... 48,4%) to the control variant. Researched regulators of growth allowed increasing the content of dry substance, starch and vitamin C in potato tubers.
