Summary. Possibility of expansion of a zone of seed raising of fibre flax at the expense of cultivation 2 and 3 reproductions of genetically stable variety on steppe black soils in the Sredne-Volga region that will promote the decision a problem of maintenance of the country a high-quality seed material is revealed. It is shown, that from 24 studied variety, eight have ensured productivity of seeds in the conditions of the Penza region at level of 12,0-13,6 ts/hectares, that more than in 3 times above in comparison with a traditional zone of cultivation of fibre flax. Productivity of seeds less than 9 ts/hectares had only four variety. Genetic stability to all analyzed high-quality signs was shown by variety – Smolich, C-108, Tverza, Tomskiy 17, Tomskiy 18, Tost, Tost 4, А-93, Sarjanka, Rosinka, Alfa, Diplomat. It is established, that in seed raising for the purpose of reception of a high yield not only seeds, but also fibres in the conditions of the Sredne-Volga region are necessary for spending sowing to early terms (on May, 1-5st) with norm of seeding of 10 million in/hectares. Placing of crops of flax without entering of fosforno-potash fertilizers is economically defensible. It is shown, that expenses for manufacture flax seeds in the given zone in 2,5 times more low in comparison with Northwest region.
