Summary. The article presents the results of researches of new collection of varieties of flax varieties of Belarusian and Belgian originality carried out in the field conditions for their further invention in the selection process. Field researches were conducted in 2012-2013 on the experimental field of the Siberian Institute of Agriculture and Peat located in sub taiga zone of Tomsk region. The length of the growing period of the varieties in drought conditions in 2012 was 68...80 days; in 2013 with excess of moisture – 73...89 days. Significant increase in the percentage fiber content in the stems to the standard showed the Belgian varieties Safi, Suzanne, Hermes, Agate, Bonita, Melina and Belarus Yarok – at 2,0...5,0%; significantly lower value of this index was for the Belarusian varieties – Vasilek, Velich, Groth (2,0...4,0%). In 2012 the yield of straw of Belarusian varieties Vasilek, Vesta, Velich, Iva and Belgian – Marilyn, Safi, Suzanne, Hermes Bonita exceed standard variety Tomsk 16 at 0,8...1,18 t-ha, in 2013 – significant differences were not observed. In 2012 the yield of seeds of varieties Iva, Laska, Hermes, Agatha, Bonita significantly exceeded standard Tomsk 16 (0.58 t / ha) – at 0,18... 0,26 t-ha. In 2013 the varieties of Belarusian originality Blakit, Vasilek, Iva has yield of seeds (0,43...0,45 t-ha) on the level of Tomsk 16 (0,41 t-ha), Levit-1, Jarok, Vesta – significantly inferior the standard (at 0,18...0,23 t-ha). All Belgian varieties had the yield of seeds (0,31...0,40 t-ha) below standard, Marilyn, Melina, Safi, Suzanne – had significantly lower index (at 0,15...0,19 t-ha). Studied Belarusian and Belgian varieties of flax are involved in selection process at Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture and Peat, as donors on fiber productivity and quality, currently 52 cross combinations are conducted.
