Summary. Researches were carried out in order to create high-yielding table potatoes varieties suitable for cultivating in the West Siberia through purposeful selection of genotypes with multiple agronomic characteristics. The whole selection process starting from the одноклубневые hybrids to the competitive and dynamic tests was carried out in a field crop rotation in ten-field crop rotation medium sandy soil with low natural fertility at SibNIISKHiT (formerly Narymskaya GHS). Breeding farms were placed after winter rye, in some years after oats. In spring mineral fertilizers were applied at the rate of N90-130P120-170K120-210. Agricultural machinery used annually provides crop formation at the level of 30-50 t / ha. When breeding Sarovsky variety (hybrid C-993-98) a method of individual selection from hybrid combination of crossing interspecific hybrids 591m-46 x 733-65 was used. Prebreeding was held in 1996 in All-Russian Potato Research Institute and breeding tests took place in 1997-2009 in Narymsky department of SibNIISKHiT (Tomsk region, Kolpashevo). As a result of competitive test taken in 2005-2010 hybrid C-993-98 is significantly superior to Antonina variety in yield (more than 4.2 t / ha), the amount of marketable tubers (more than 0.3%), starch content (more than 1.2%) and taste (more than 1,2 points). In 2010 Sarovsky hybrid was tested successfully and was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation in the West Siberian region in 2014. As a result of 18-year-old breeding process and collaboration between SibNIIISKHiT and All-Russian Potato Research Institute a new table potato variety Sarovsky of early ripening, suitable for fresh consumption both in summer-autumn and winter-spring period, resistant to cancer and potato cyst nematode was created.
