Summary. In order to extract starch after grinding equipment from partially destructed cells of slurry from raw materials it could be more efficient with low expenses to use filtering centrifuges with conical sieve. The most promising trend to improve them to supply the design with ring discs and partitions, installing them with gap or without it with filtering surface and with possibility of axial displacement to control the degree of inhibition and the residence time of fiber sediment before partitions without stopping the rotor. Such addition to design of centrifuge eliminates sensitivity of separation to changes of raw materials properties and obtained fractions, makes it possible to wash the sediment, including repeated (cascade) washing inside the sieve without reset and re-centrifugation, which significantly increases the yield of starch at separation. Adjustable disc enables as much time gain to rinse and to dry the product in the rotor as required for a predetermined period of time depending on the parameters of the suspension and separated fractions as well as designs. Impermeable annular wall together with positively displaceable disc in the axial direction in each zone is used to form a pressure ring of wash liquid before sediment. It makes possible to provide effective repeated washing of the sediment that provides almost complete withdrawal of the free starch from the fiber. Furthermore, such a design allows to gain and effectively dehumidify the sediment from the dispersion medium of suspension and the washing liquid. Such a trend of improving filtering centrifuges centrifuge is spread for centrifuges with conical sieve and bladed centrifuge.
