Summary. During vegetation periods of 2012-2013 in Udmurt Research Institute of Agriculture the influence of preplant treatment of tubers on the productivity of potato varieties Udacha, Nevsky and Chajka, indicators of its structure and quality of obtained production were studied. Experiments were carried out on soddy medium podzolic middle loamy soil in field crop rotation. The previous crop was spring barley. The primary and pre-seeding tillage, potato seeding were performed by wide-row ridge-band cultivation technology in the modification of Udmurt Research Institute of Agriculture. Early potato variety Udacha yielded 39.9 t/ha on the average of the test variants that significantly exceeded the yield of middle-early variety Nevsky and mid-season variety Chajka by 5.8 and 2.3 t/ha, correspondingly. Preplant treatment of tubers by insect-fungicide Prestige, KS, micro-elements (copper sulphates, zinc, cobalt, ammonium molybdate, boric acid) and their combination provided a significant increase in productivity at 5.3…7.8 t/ha in comparison with variant without treatment. This was caused by the formation of larger mass of tubers per plant, which against the background of different application of the studied preparations increased by 0.084…0.125 kg on the average of all varieties in comparison with treatment by water (0.599 kg). The highest yields of variety Udacha (44.3 t/ha) was with treatment by Prestige together with micro-elements. On the average for the period of investigations the early variety Udacha was characterized by the highest dry matter content in the tubers (22.4 %), mid-season variety Chajka – by the highest content of starch (13.6 %).
Keywords: potato, potato varieties, treatment of tubers, insect-fungicide, micro-elements, yield, dry matter, starch.
