Summary. The aim of the research was to develop and evaluate new breeding material of barley and oats on productivity of grain and grain-haylage mass at the final stages of breeding. The work was carried out in Krasnoyarsk forest steppe of Yenisei Siberia on typical black soil using common agrotechnics. The highly productive breeding material was developed with the use of six-row smooth awn varieties Luter, Fox, Moore 515 (USA), Barkhatny (individual selection from the Chinese sample from Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region), Gateway, Conquest (Canada), Sobolek (Krasnoyarsk Research Institute for Agriculture) and previously developed in the institute samples Agul 2 and Yenisei. Individual lines of six-row barley with smooth awns (E79-5743, E88-5879, E88-5880, E88-5891, E88-5893, E88-5907, E88-5908) exceeded the standard on 6.5...10.2 cwt/ha. These results are caused by high resistance to lodging and ear necking, higher (by 0.20…0.42 g.) grain weight per plant and higher coefficient of economical effectiveness. Breeding lines E79-5743, E88-5891 and E88-5893 positively combine high yield of grain and green mass (the increase over the control variety Sobolek is 6.7...10.2 and 25.0...49.0 cwt/ha, correspondingly). In multiple crossings of highly productive oats variety Tubinsky with varieties of domestic and foreign selection a new breeding material with high grain yields was developed. On average for 2013-2014 lines L-197-09, L-257-09, 283-09 and L-L-334-08 exceeded the standard variety Tubinsky on 4.7...7.1 cwt/ha, while maintaining optimal vegetation period.
