Summary. The purpose of the research was the integrated assessment of spring barley varieties for yield and adaptive capacity. Eight varieties were tested in 2009-2011 at three state variety test plots in Tyumen region: Nizhnetavdinsky plot in subtaiga zone; Ishimsky plot in northern forest-steppe; and Berdyuzhsky plot in southern forest-steppe. The assessment of the main parameters of the environment (productivity, relative differentiating ability, typicalness, predictable), as well as the adaptive capacity and stability of spring barley varieties (general adaptive capacity, variance of the specific adaptive capacity, relative stability, breeding value of the genotype) were determined by the method of A.V. Kilchevsky, L.V. Khotyleva; the plasticity of culture samples (regression coefficient, bi) – by the method of S.A. Eberhart and W.A. Russell. The greatest values of the basic parameters of the environment during the period of the investigation were in subtaiga region, the lowest ones – in the southern forest-steppe. According to the plasticity the varieties were divided into three groups: weakly responsive to condition improving – Buyan, Sibiryak, Vorsinsky 2 and Chelyabinsky 99 (bi < 1); strongly responsive ones – KVS Alisiana and KVS Bambina (bi > 1); and varieties with high ecological plasticity – Acha and Sasha (bi = 1). The highest values of the overall adaptive capacity (OAC) were indicated by varieties KVS Alisiana (OASi = 0.39) and KVS Bambina (OASi = 0.16), and the relative stability (Sg) – varieties Buyan (Sgi = 28.4 %) and Sibiryak (Sgi = 30.7 %). According to the breeding value of genotype (BVG) were distinguished varieties Sibiryak (BVGi = 2.75) and Sasha (SVGi = 2.67). All varieties of spring barley were characterized by a high average yield from 4.68 t/ha (Buyan) to 5.53 t/ha (KVS Alisiana) and by strong variability (from 28.6 % (Buyan) to 39.4 % (KVS Alisiana). It was noted low overall adaptive capacity (Chelyabinsky 99 – -0.04, Acha – -0.10, Buyan – -0.46) and relative stability (Chelyabinsky 99 – 32.9 %, Acha – 34.3 %, KVS Alisiana – 39.4 %) in the most variety samples.
