Summary. The aim of this work is to study the influence of ozone-air mixture on the morphological parameters of seed germination of barley (Hordeum L.) varieties «Zazersky.» We used the seeds with shelf life of 1 year and 11 years. Ozone was obtained on the original experimental apparatus by a barrier discharge. The range of doses studied ranged from 190 to 24 • 103 mg • min / m3, when averaging n = 4 corresponded to doses 283,8 and 7875 mg•min/m3. Energy, average germination speed, average length and weight of seedlings were selected as main indicators of germination. The results obtained in the course of research indicated the efficiency of ozone impact on barley seeds with an increase in their storage periods at low doses: in the range from 190 to 750 mg • min / m3 (26,7 to 11,2 % when averaged) germination energy increased from 42,7% to 28,2% compared with the control; in the doses of 750 and 2250 mg • min / m3 germination energy and average seedling length increased slightly by 8.8% and 5,3% and 4,5% and 8,2% respectively. There is also a slight increase in germination – the average speed of germination was increased by 2,5%. With increasing doses of ozone efficiency of its impact on all indicators decreased. For seeds with a lifespan of 1 year, a positive result was obtained only for changes in the average weight of seedlings: the maximum value was 6.6%. All values of the biological effect of this indicator for seeds with a long shelf life lay in the area of negative values. Thus, all the data obtained testify in favor of the seeds with a good shelf life: application of ozone for them more effectively.
