Summary. Under conditions of Altai Territory bud survival is 90…98 % after the inoculation of pear, but significant part of them die off in winter. The number of winterred eyes and effectiveness of seedlings growing can be increased considerably by inoculation within the optimum periods. The article presents investigation results on the influence of date of summer inoculation on pear bud overwintering of varieties Perun and Povislaya. The part of wintered eyes decreased from early to late terms of budding. Inoculation at the middle time (July 30 and August 10) provided high bud overwintering – 75.6…82.6 %. Bud overwintering depends on accumulated effective temperatures after inoculation and winter conditions, including accumulated negative temperatures, duration of frost-period and height of snow cover. In the case of inoculation in late terms (August 20) accumulated effective temperatures during after-inoculation period decreased, which leads to the loss of a large quantity of eyes, especially in the frosty winters, as a result of the weak inoculation due to deficit of heat and poor preparation for the winter. Therefore, you should not carry out inoculation after August 20. Optimal dates for the inoculation of pear under conditions of forest-steppe of Altai Territory is from July 20 to August 10. Pear varieties with early scion maturation (Povislaya, etc.) should be inoculated in early period (July 20-30), and varieties with late scion maturation (Perun, etc.) should be inoculated later (August 1-10).
