Summary. The researches were carried out in 2009-2011 in 2…4-year intensive apple orchard cultivated by European technology with trickle irrigation under conditions of the foothills of Kabardino-Balkaria. The soil was leached black soil. The apple varieties Golden Bee, Golden Reindeers, Granny Smith, Red Delicious Hapke, Early Red Wan were transplanted on rootstock M9, planting scheme was 3.5 х 0.9 m. The aim of the investigation was to determine the effect of manual normalization of the ovary on the yield of trees and to overcome the periodicity of fruiting. It was found that in the absence of rationing of crop load for a total of two years for varieties Golden Bee and Golden Reindeers, characterized by early appearance of fruit, it was obtained by 42.1…61.9 % less fruit than in the version with manual normalization of the ovaries. For the variety Early Red Van the difference was 21.0 % in favor of the normalization of ovaries. At cultivars Granny Smith and Red Delicious Hapke it is expedient to start normalization of the ovaries since the fourth vegetation only. As a whole under the conditions of the southern region of the Russian Federation it is required the manual thinning of the ovaries in the cultivation of high intensive apple orchards by modern technology. You should retain 30…35 fruits per tree for 2-year trees after June elimination of ovaries, 45…50 fruits for 3-year trees and 70…80 fruits for 4-year trees.

Keywords: intensive orchard, manual regulation of fruits, periodicity of bearings.
