PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY OF FORAGE CROPS IN INTERMEDIATE CROPS

Summary. Researches were carried out to study the productivity of mixes of forage crops used in postcut and stubbly crops for an increase in high quality forage yield during summer-autumn period per one hectare of sown area. The scheme of three-factor experiment included the following variants. Factor A was forage crops: vetch with oats; spring rape; Sudan grass; Sudan grass with soybean. Factor B was sowing date: the first one was after harvesting of winter rye for green fodder since the end of the second and till the beginning of the third decade of May; the second one was after harvesting of winter rye for green fodder since the end of the first and till the beginning of the second decade of June; the third sowing time was after harvesting of winter rye for grain. Factor C was fertilizers: without fertilizers (the control); N16P16K16, N56P16K16. Field experiment was carried out in 2011-2014 on leached black soil in Republic of Mordovia. The use of intermediate forage crops for green mass after winter rye increases efficiency of 1 hectare of an arable land by 1.0…7.31 tons of dry matter or by 0.94…5.08 tons of fodder units. The maximum productivity (24.2 t/ha) of plant green mass was provided by mixed crops of Sudan grass with soybean against the background of full mineral fertilizer at the dose of N56P16K16 when sowing at the end of the second – the beginning of the third decade of May. In the variant with spring rape depending on sowing time the productivity was 9.5…18.3 t/ha of green mass and from 1.4 to 3.84 t/ha of dry matter.
