Summary. The purpose of the work was to improve the inactivated emulsion vaccine against chlamidiosis of cattle. The studies succeeded in reducing of reactogenicity and maintenance of immunogenicity of the preparation. Trials of the vaccine were carried out in the farm where the disease of cows and heifers was observed, appearing in abortions and stillbirths, retention of afterbirth, as well as mass gynecological pathologies (60 calves were received per 100 cows and heifers). In young animals bronchial pneumonia and gastroenteritis were recorded, which often leaded to the death. Laboratory tests on the farm diagnosed Chlamydia.Animals were treated with oxytetracycline hydrochloride in the form of a sustained rate of 1.0 cm3 per 10 kg of body weight in 4 injections at intervals of 3 days, intramuscularly. Then the immunization of all livestock by the vaccine against chlamydia was spent, the vaccine was administered intramuscularly at a dose of 2.0 cm3 for adult animals; 1.0 cm3 for 1…6-month old calves. The vaccine had no effect on the general condition of the vaccinated animals. At the injection site of a biological preparation no complications appeared. The study of blood serum of vaccinated animals by complement binding assay showed that in one month after vaccination in 94 % of animals antibodies to chlamydia antigen were detected in the middle titre 1 : 72 ± 6.4 (M ± m), which retained for 6 months. The analysis of morbidity before and after the vaccine administration showed that as a result of its application the number of abortions and stillbirths in the farm reduced 2…3 times; calf deaths decreased 2 times; output of calves increased by 20…25 %. Cost-effectiveness per 1 ruble of cost for the vaccine was 21 rubles.
