EFFICIENCY OF USE OF THE VARIABLE MAGNETIC FIELDS FOR PRE-SOWING TREATMENT OF FLAX SEEDS

Summary. The results of field experiments on pre-sowing treatment of flax seeds with different magnetic fields are presented: impulse field with frequency 16 2500 Hz with duration of 30 sec and variable one with power frequency 50 Hz and duration 10, 30 and 60 sec. Elite and mass reproduction seeds of fiber flax variety Krom were studied. The creation of magnetic fields and seed treatments were carried out on specially developed the experimental devices. Plants growth rates at the main vegetation phases, as well as fiber and seed yields were estimated. The multidirectionality of plant reaction for the application of impulse magnetic field was noted. At treatment of seeds by pulsed field with frequency 16 Hz it was the decrease of dynamics of plant growth and productivity, and simultaneously–the increase of the survival rate of plants, in comparison with the variant with 50 Hz and control. The most effective ways of seed treatment was varying magnetic field of industrial frequency (50 Hz). The yield of seeds and stock in this variant (the time of treatment was 30 s) exceeded control by 19-29% and 19-23%, respectively. Treatment of elite seeds by variable magnetic field ensured greater increase in yield parameters (seed and fiber weight, grab length of fiber) than of seeds of mass reproduction. Increase in the duration of the action of variable magnetic field up to 60 s. contributed to the growth of yield parameters of flax production, in comparison with 10 s. Studied changes of flax characteristics indicate the nonlinear response of biological system to used magnetic fields. However, seed treatment by variable magnetic field (50 Hz) influenced positively on productivity both at different expositions and in the case of using the material of different reproduction.
