Summary. The main task of our work was to study perspective introduced varieties for Ulyanovsk region and selection the best of them according to economic values. The investigation was carried out on the experimental plot of the primary variety test of the division of fruit and berry cultures of Ulyanovsk Agricultural Research Institute. The soil of the test plot is chernozem weakly leached, middle thick, middle loamy with the following agrochemical characteristics: pH is 5.9; the amount of total absorbed bases is 53.6 meq/100g of soil; humus content is 5.45%. It were introduced the perspective varieties selected in the Kokino base of the Russian Breeding and Technological Institute of Horticulture and Nursery (Bryansk region), including early ripening: Meteor, Beglyanka, Novost, Kuzmina, Solnyshko, Ranny Syurpriz; middle ripening: Sputnitsa, Skromnitsa, Zhuravlik, Volnitsa, Gusar, Rubin Bryansky; and late-ripening varieties: Balzam, Peresvet, brigantine, Rubin Bolgarsky. The zoned variety Nagrada was used as a control. The study of varieties was carried out from 2002 to 2009. Since raspberry begins heavy bearing in 3-4 year, the determination of productivity and berry quality was carried out in 2007-2009. The best varieties in productivity were Volnitsa (4.0 t/ha) and Gusar (3.8 t/ha), the largest berries were in varieties Balzam (the weight of 1 berry is 3.5 g) and Volnitsa (3.2 g), in taste qualities–Rubin Bryansky, Balzam and Gusar. As a result of conducted studies according to the general estimation varieties Gusar, Rubin Bryansky, Balzam and Nagrada are recommended for industrial cultivation; varieties Volnitsa, Solnyshko and Zhuravlik – for amateur horticulture.
