Summary. The study was carried out to determine the influence of the “Rostok” preparation of sodium humate of local production on the productivity and immunity of heifers and bull calves up to 6 months of age. The keeping of animals was cage, feeding was from common feeders, the watering was out of the common drinkers. The experimental group consisted of animals of Holstein black-and-white breed – 10 heifers and 10 bull-calves, the same number of animals was in the control group. Group formation was carried out on the principle of pair-analogues. To control the physiological state of the animals it was taken blood samples for morphological and biochemical studies. During the period of the experiment the average daily gain of live weight of heifers of the experimental group was 919 g, of bull-calves–909 g; in the control group – 816 and 845 g, correspondingly. The difference was 12.6% for heifers and 7.5% for bull-calves in favor of the test group. Phagocytic activity of blood of experimental animals was higher by 3.8%, phagocytic number–by 22.3%, phagocytic integral index–by 25.6%. The high rate of phagocyte number demonstrates the activity of neutrophils and high absorption capacity of phagocytes. The animals were healthy, as evidenced by parameters of blood and serum. The analysis of the condition of the calves from the test group reveals the positive influence of the “Rostok” preparation. The tendency towards the increase in live weight and immunity status of the animals was noted under the action of sodium humate.

Keywords: heifers, bull-calves, black-and-white breed, sodium humate, live weight gain, immunity, phagocytic activity.
