PECULIARITIES OF FORMATION OF THOUSAND GRAIN WEIGHT OF SPRING SOFT WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM) UNDER CONTRAST WEATHER CONDITIONS OF FOREST-STEPPE OF OB REGION

Summary. . In order to identify the sources of high thousand grain weight we studied the peculiarities of formation of the characteristic of 139 variety samples of spring soft wheat of different groups of ripeness under contrast weather conditions. The investigations were carried out on the experimental plot in Novosibirsk district of Novosibirsk region on the left bank of the Ob river. The weather conditions were contrast during the years of the research: 2011 was close to the long-term average annual values (HTC = 1.22); 2012 was severe drought with high temperature (HTC = 0.59); 2013 was excessive moistening, insufficient in heat (HTC = 2.86). In middle early and early groups of ripeness the reliable correlations were registered between thousand grain weight and grain weight per plant in 2011 (r = 0.37) and 2013 (r = 0.48). In 2012 due to the drought the correlation was not reliable (r = 0.18), the dependence of thousand grain weight from grain weight from ear was medium and reliable (r = 0.36). Over the whole investigation period it was registered reliable positive correlation dependences between thousand grain weight and productivity (r = 0.15, r = 0.46, r = 0.37, respectively), weight of grain from ear (r = 0.58, r = 0.42, r = 0.45), weight of grain from plant (r = 0.34, r = 0.30, r = 0.44) in the varieties from the medium ripening group. In the middle-late varieties the similar patterns were revealed, except for the relationship between the thousand grain weight and crop yield in 2011 (the dependence was medium, but not reliable, r = 0.30). As sources of high thousand grain weight we can recommend varieties Tyumenskaya 80 (33.1 g), Omskaya Kormovaya (38.3 g), Kazakhstanskaya 32 (37.3 g), Baganskaya 51 (35.7 g), Kharkovskaya 22 (35.6 g), Albidum 31 (35.8 g), Shortandinskaya 95 (37.8 g). They are characterized by reliable high expression of the sign in 2 years from 3. Cultivar Lutescens 148 reliably exceeded the average value in the group of ripeness over three years of the study (2011 = 44.5 g; 2012 = 29.9 g; 2013 = 35.8 g; = 36.7 g).
