Summary. The purpose of the research was to carry out the ecological and epizootological analysis and systematization of risk factors of development of leukemia of cattle, to prove scientifically the practical use of risk parameters for the control of the epizootic process. The objects of the researches were epizootic and infectious processes of cattle leukemia. Epizootic conditions were investigated on the basis of the veterinary reporting of veterinary managements of Tomsk region and Krasnoyarsk Krai for 12 years period (1990-2001), supplemented with the data of our expeditionary researches in problem areas on cattle leukemia. Relative risk (RR) was estimated as the relation of morbidity in populations exposed and not exposed to a risk factor. The morbidity of cows by leukemia was calculated by the classical method and was expressed in per mile (ppm). The conceptual system of the factors of overall risk of leukemia development of cattle representing the theoretical generalization and synthesis of results of our own researches and other authors’ investigation is developed. The proposed conceptual system is based on the division of risk factors on endogenous, connected with peculiarities of animal organism, and exogenous, caused by external influences. The endogenous risk factors include breed, hereditary predisposition and age of susceptible animals. The group of the exogenous factors is more extensive and is subdivided on ecological, technological and biological ones. The given system provides practical use of risk parameters for monitoring (forecasting of epizootic conditions and diagnostics of illness) and management of epizootic process.

Keywords: leukemia of cattle, epizootic process, infectious process, overall risk of illness development, relative risk, hereditary predisposition, ecological risk factors.
