Summary. The purpose of work was to identify the most effective insecticide for the control of pea moth (Laspeyresia nigricana F.) from a number of modern preparations of different chemical classes. Field and laboratory studies were carried out in Aksai district of Rostov region of the Southern Federal District in 2013-2015. The soil was ordinary chernozem. We present three-year experimental data on the effect of insecticides of different classes on the population of pea moth (Laspeyresia nigricana F.) in the Azov area of Rostov region. The Eforiya insecticide based on two active substances was chosen as a standard preparation. The design of the test included the following variants: Eforiya, 0.2 l/ha (standard); Regent, 0.03 kg/ha; Sumition, 0.8 l/ha; Danadim Expert, 1 l/ha; Karate Zeon, 0.2 l/ha; Detsis Profi, 0.05 kg/ha; control (without insecticides). The square of the plot was 100 m2, the replication was triple, the arrangement of the plots was random. The number of pea moth was determined by sweep-net method before the treatment and in 3, 7 and 14 days after insecticide application. The highest biological efficiency against pests was observed when using Karate Zeon (84.7-95.3%) and Detsis Profi (87.8-95.6%). The highest yield was obtained with treatment by Detsis Profi – 1.17 t/ha, by Karate Zeon – 1.14 t/ha; in the standard variant it was 0.47 t/ha. The payback of 1 ruble of investment in protective measures was 26.7 rubles for Karate Zeon and 24.3 rubles for Detsis Profi. The results of these studies allowed to conclude that the most biologically advisable and economically viable preparations against pea moth are preparations from the class of synthetic pyrethroids: Detsis Profi and Karate Zeon with the application rates of 0.05 kg/ha and 0.2 l/ha, respectively. These preparations have high initial toxicity and rapid action.
