Summary. During 2002-2009 at Novozybkovsky State Experimental Station in Bryansk region the work was carried out on the restoration of population of winter rye Novozybkovskaya 150, released in 1987. It was selected the best plants with required parameters: height – 120-135 cm, productive tilling capacity – 2-3 stems, ear length – 10-13 cm, ear density – 2.8-3.0 spikelets per 1 cm, the number of spikelets in a ear – 30-35 pieces, the weight of grain in a ear – 1.9-2.2 g, the thousand grain weight – 30-34 g. These selections enabled to lay nurseries for test posterities of the first and second year with the use of the method of the passing remains of “halves” in 2009. The Novozybkovskaya 150 variety was developed on the basis of formation of complex synthetic populations in combination with continuous object-orientated selection on a number of signs: height of plants 120-125 cm, productive tillering capacity 7-9 stalks, a number of spikelets and grains in a ear 39-40 pieces, the weight of grain from one ear 2.6-2.9 g. The method of intensive improving seed farming of this variety contributed to the development of a new variety of winter wheat with productivity 7.0-8.0 t/ha, which is examined in the system of state variety testing as Novozybkovskaya Yubilejnaya. The average concentration of caesium-137 in grain of Novozybkovskaya Yubilejnaya winter rye in nurseries of seed farming did not exceed 40 Bq/kg. The result of the tests of winter rye Novozybkovskaya 150 revealed, that continuous, object-orientated selection stabilized new material, increased productivity and resistance to stress factors, diseases and provided a constancy of the variety. The new variety of winter rye Novozybkovskaya Yubilejnaya, developed in such a way, is brought to the state test in 2013.
