Summary. In 2006-2015 in the forest-steppe zone of the Altai Krai the investigations were carried out at M.A. Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia (LRIHS) in order to expand strawberry assortment by the development and introduction of new cultivars into production, combining the high level of adaptability, productivity and high quality of berries. The objects of the investigations were four mid-ripening (Anastasiya, Zabelinskaya, Pervoklassnitsa, Solnechnaya Polyanka) and two early ripening (Darenka, Barnaulochka) strawberry cultivars. Control cultivars were Pervoklassnitsa and Darenka. Strawberry plantations were surrounded by forest and distichous protective belts. Soils of experimental plots were heterogeneous, gray or dark gray forest soils prevail. Production tests of mid-ripening cultivars were carried out at plots, planted in 2010 and 2011, of early ripening cultivars – at plots, planted in 2006, 2009 and 2012, in accordance with the main program instructions and variety-studying method of fruit, berry and nut crops. Among mid-ripening cultivars the control cultivar Pervoklassnitsa had the highest average weight of berries (8.0-12.6 g) and yield (11.2-28.5 t/ha). The yield of the Solnechnaya Polyanka cultivar was close to the control one (10.1-21.8 t/ha). Mid-ripening cultivar Barnaulochka was highly productive: the average weight of berries was 7.7 g, the yield was 11.0 t/ha. The berries of this cultivar contain a large amount of sugar (7.3%), low quality of titrated acids (1.0%) and high value of the sugar-acidic index (8.6). We recommend growing strawberry cultivars of LRIHS breeding (Anastasiya, Barnaulochka, Zabelinskaya, Pervoklassnitsa, Solnechnaya Polyanka) under conditions of the south of Western Siberia for commercial and amateur horticulture. These cultivars can be used in breeding as a source of high productivity; Barnaulochka can be included in breeding work as a source of early ripening, harmonic taste and high content of sugars.

Keywords: strawberry, cultivar, yield, average mass of berries, number of flower stalks and ovaries, biochemical composition of berries.
