Summary. The article presents the results of five-year studies of chemical amelioration, which is one of the directions of remediation of agro-sod-podzol soils, contaminated by cadmium. The experiment was laid out in 2011 in the work-study unit “Iyul'skoe”, Votkinsk district, the Republic of Udmurtia, on the artificially contaminated by cadmium sulfate plot. The dose of cadmium sulfate was 5 mg/kg (a.s.), the level of contamination was high. Agrochemical characteristics of the arable layer of the soil were the following: pH(KCl) – 4.8; hydrolytic acidity – 3.3 mmol/100 g; S – 11,1 mmol/100 g; the content of mobile phosphorus- 103 mg/kg, of exchange potassium – 110 mg/kg, of humus – 1.8%. Different doses of fertilizers and ameliorants were studied as ameliorant additives: lime dust (8 and 12 t/ha) and phosphorite meal (1.0 and 1.5 t/ha), superphosphate (90 and 120 kg/ha), sodium sulfide (90 and 120 kg/ha), peat (50 and 100 t/ha) and zeolite (50 and 100 t/ha). This article presents only their impact on agrochemical indicators of the contaminated soil. The nature and parameters of this effect were influenced by the chemical composition of ameliorative additives, the dose of their application and the period since the introduction. Lime dust had the most significant and prolonged positive impact on the soil, it significantly reduced the acidity of the contaminated soil (at 0.6-1.8 units pH(KCl)) and increased the amount of exchange bases (to 4.8-9.4 mmol/100 g). The application of phosphorite meal increased the content of mobile phosphorus in soil 2-5 times, of superphosphate – at 13-52%. Application of zeolite at the dose of 100 t/ha increased the amount of exchange bases in the soil by 0.6-3.7 mmol/100 g, the amount of exchange potassium – by 4-64%. Peat increased the organic matter content by 0.19-1.05%. The positive effect of these ameliorative additives, especially their increased doses, was registered for five years of observations. So, it is recommended to use the studied substances during soil remediation.
