Summary. We examined the peculiarities of metabolism of imported cattle of Kalmyk and Red Steppe breeds during their adaptation under natural and climatic conditions of Yakutia. This process is accompanied by physiological and biochemical structural transformations in a body, characterizing by significant changes. The level of total protein in blood serum of Kalmyk cows reliably increased (p is less than 0.001) in comparison with the standards by 17 % ((99.37 ± 2.51) g/l). At the same time it was observed dysproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia with the growth of concentration of gamma-1 and gamma-2 globulins by 20 % ((11.53 ± 1.51) % and (37.08 ± 2.13) % in Kalmyk breed; (10.03 ± 2.09) % and (28.75 ± 2.09) % in Red Steppe breed, respectively). The adaptation of the imported cattle under conditions of Yakutia was accompanied by the increase in the activity of enzyme systems of creatine kinase: four times in Kalmyk breed ((4367.6 ± 3.5) nkat/l), two times in Red Steppe breed ((2352.99 ± 3.21) nkat/l); with the increase in the level of lactic dehydrogenase by 19 % ((25.13 ± 0.2) nkat/l) and 33.6 % ((28.67 ± 1.16) nkat/l), respectively. In the cows of Red Steppe breed the high content of cholesterol was registered, (3.55 ± 1.19) mmol/l, which is higher by 23.3 % than the standards (p is less than 0.05). The absolute quantity and the average volume of erythrocytes, the content of hemoglobin in the erythrocytes and the total quantity of leucocytes in them was lower than in animals of Kalmyk breed by 4.5 % (4.89 ± 0.42*10E12), 25.2 % ((46.6 ± 0.96) mcm3), 32.7 % ((67.3 ± 1.08) g/l), 31.5 % (4.82 ± 0.36*10E9), correspondingly. In the leukocyte formula of animals of both breeds it was noted the decrease in leukocyte content by 27.3 % ((30.5 ± 1.27) %) and 10.5 % ((37.6 ± 1.08) %), respectively, in comparison with the standards. At the same time in the studied cows it was observed high phagocytic activity of macrophages in peripheral blood – (84.00 ± 2.85) %, which is higher than the standard by 6.3 %. Such unspecific changes reflect the stress of functional systems in the animal organism during the urgent adaptation.
