Abstract. The investigations on the study of the reaction of carrot to the pre-sowing treatment of seeds by humic preparations, as well as its influence on the productivity and keeping capacity were carried out in 2015-2016 in the test plot of Kemerovo State Agricultural Institute, relating to the forest-steppe zone. The soil of the experimental plot was podzolized chernozem, medium thick, heavy loamy. Humic preparations Gumostim, produced from valley peat, and potassium humate from brown coal were the objects for the research. We studied the influence of different concentrations of the preparation: 0.001 %, 0.005 %, and 0.01 %; the control was the seeds without processing. The study on humic preparations was carried out on table carrot ‘Nantskaya 4’. The seeds were sown on May 10; the seeding rate was 200 seeds/m2; the replication was triple; the forecrop was potato. The carrot was harvest and laid on storage on September 13-14. The sum of active temperatures for the period of vegetation was 2150 Celsius degrees. It was determined the effect of the humic preparations on the germination ability of seeds under laboratory conditions. At the concentrations of 0.001 %, 0.005 % (Gumostim) and 0.001 %, 0.01 % (potassium humate) the laboratory germination ability was higher by 8-12 % (Gumostim) and 7-20 % (potassium humate) in comparison with the control. It was revealed a significant influence of Gumostim at the concentration of 0.005 % on root weight (125.3 g) and root length (19.1 cm). The variety formed the maximum yield at seed processing by solutions of preparations at the concentration of 0.001 %: from 13.45 kg/m2 (Gumostim) to 13.6 kg/m2 (potassium humate). The humic preparations improved keeping capacity of carrot roots: the reduction of the weight in 60 days of storage was 4 %.

Keywords: table carrot, Gumostim, potassium humate, vital qualities, biometric indicators, productivity, safety.
