DETERMINATION OF DESIGN PARAMETERS OF APPLICATORS FOR LOCAL PROCESSING OF SUGAR BEET CROPS

Abstract. One way to improve the technology of processing of sugar beet crops is a combination of mechanical and chemical methods of weed control. Since it is almost impossible to destroy weeds in the protection zone of a plant mechanically, the belt application of herbicides is used. When processing the crops not only the loosening of inter-row spacing and chemical processing of plants are important, but their top-dressing, in which the nutrients are received through the leaf surface and efficiently absorbed, providing plants by all necessary substances in strict accordance with their needs in the critical phases of development. We developed an advanced technology of crop processing on the basis of a patented method for application of foliar fertilizers and herbicides. To realize the improved crop processing technology we proposed a combined unit with applicators for belt application of herbicides on both sides of the row of plants and foliar feeding by micro fertilizers and growth stimulants with an adjustable supply of process solutions, taking into account the phase of plant development and the implementation of mechanical row cultivations. Depending on the phase of plant development it is advisable to install sprayers with nozzles for the continuous conical spray of liquid process solutions of micro fertilizers with the spray cone angle of 30 degrees, vertically, at the distance to the leaf surface of 120-150 mm. In the case of the angle of the spray cone of 40 degrees the distance should be 50-75 mm, of 60 degrees- up to 50 mm. The treatment by herbicides in conjunction with the cultivation of inter-row spacing could be carried out by sprayers with the angle of the spray cone of 30 degrees, set at the angle of 45 degrees at the distance from 100 to 130 mm.
