Abstract. The results of the use of a feed preparation containing mannanoligosaccharides, received by the mechanical and enzymatic methods, are presented. The feed preparation was used for the medioprophylactic purpose at gastrointestinal diseases of calves, caused by opportunistic microflora. To carry out the studies we formed two groups of calves of Simmental breed in 40 head. Calves from the experimental group from the first day of life were obtained the feed preparation containing mannanoligosaccharides at a dose of 4 g/day during 30 days. The clinical condition of the animals was assessed every day, the presence of diarrhea symptoms was recorded. Weight gain was registered in dynamics: after the birth, on the 30th and 60th days. On the 30th day of calf life blood and excrements were sampled. Everyday use of the feed preparation had a marked medioprophylactic action: 16 animals got sick of gastrointestinal diseases (40.0 %) in the control group; in the experimental one this value was 9 head (22.5 %). The average duration of the illness in the experimental group decreased by 30.2 %, compared to the control. The analysis of fecal microflora of calves from the test and control groups showed that the usage of the preparation decreased the number of opportunistic microorganisms of the family Enterobacteriaceae in ill animals by 97.4 %, compared with the control; coccal microflora – by 24.3 %, Gram-positive bacillus – by 52.7 %. In 30 days after the start of the experiment, the difference in live weight of calves from the experimental and control groups was 15.6 %, after 60 days – 10.8 %. Economic efficiency of the use of the feed preparation, containing mannanoligosaccharides, for the medioprophylactic purpose at gastrointestinal diseases of young animals was 18.8 rubles per 1 ruble of expenses.
