IMPROVING OF ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PARAMETERS OF CATERPILLAR MOVER OF TRACTOR T-170М1.03-55

Abstract. One of the directions to increase the efficiency of machine-tractor aggregates is to improve the shape of the supporting surface of a caterpillar tractor. The article presents the results of comparative experimental studies of the caterpillar tractor Т-170М1.03-55 with serial and rational crawler rim. The equation of the geometry of the bearing surface of a caterpillar tractor with a semi-rigid suspension, providing even pressure distribution along the bearing surface, is obtained. The rational geometry of the bearing surface of the caterpillar tractor with semi-rigid suspension is achieved by the arrangement of rollers at different heights. For typical operating conditions of the caterpillar tractor T-170М1.03-55 with semi-rigid suspension the third and fourth middle rollers should be lowered relatively to the frame of the truck on (9.5 ± 1.5) mm, and the second and fifth ones – on (4.5 ± 0.5) mm, which allows to reduce the soil compaction in a rut by 15-25 %. The rational geometry of the caterpillar mover in the field with medium loamy soil, prepared for sowing, reduces the maximum pressure from 120 kPa to 85 kPa. The tractive effort when plowing varies from 27.5 to 77.5 kN with the highest probability for the tractor with the serial crawler rim in the range from 47.5 to 52.5 kN, with the rational one – from 42.5 to 52.5 kN. The actual speed of the arable unit changed from 5.0 to 5.5 km/h with an expected value of 5.1 and 5.3 km/h respectively. The increase in the tractive effort and the actual speed of the tractor with a rational rim provides a capacity increase of 75.2 kW. The probability of slippage is in the range 0-16 % with a mathematical expectation of 4.52 % for the serial and 4.2 % for the rational rim. The rotary speed of a crankshaft of the engine when plowing changed in the range 960-1360 rpm with expectation for the tractor with the serial crawler rim 1167.8 rpm, with the rational one – 1195.7 rpm. The diesel of the tractor with the rational crawler rim works closer to the zone of the nominal values of speed characteristics of the diesel D-160. The plowing by the tractor with the rational crawler rim helps to improve the quality of crumbling of a soil layer.
