Summary. The article presents the results of the field evaluation of 18 samples of hulled and huskless spelt from the world collection of the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources. There is a brief description of several spelt samples according to their origin and breeding goals. We studied 5 samples of hulled spelt (Belka, K-7508, K-24482, K-33153, Runo); 4 samples of huskless spelt (L-133 x Belka, L-196/3 x L-13, L-133 x Pkk, D-733), created as a result of saturating crosses between durum wheat ‘Svetlana’ and spring spelt ‘Belka’; 7 samples of huskless spelt (L68/10, L69/10, L70/10, L71/10, L72/10, L73/10, L74/10), obtained by double backcrossing of hulled spelt ‘L-9934’ with XaRD 46/17 line of durum wheat; Raketa variety of durum wheat, created with the participation of spelt ‘Zabajkalskaya’; standard variety ‘Omskaya stepnaya’. According to the results of the evaluation, valuable genetic sources of spelt were revealed. Runo (2.8 pcs), K-7508 (2.7 pcs), K-33153 (2.6 pcs) samples were revealed according to the productive tillering. L69/10 (2.19 g), L74/10 (2.01 g), L 71/10 (2.01 g) huskless samples were the best in the mass of grain per plant. D-733 (53.9 %), L-133 x Pkk (52.9 %), Raketa variety of durum wheat (52.3 %), L72/10 (48.3 %), L-133 x Belka (48.0 %) were selected according to the coefficient of crop efficiency. Belka (385 g/m2), Runo (381 g/m2) were revealed on the yield. K-7508 (17.19 %), K-24482 (17.06 %), Belka (16.88 %) samples of had the highest protein content. Belka (65 g/m2), Runo (64 g/m2), K-24482 (59 g/m2) were revealed on gross output of protein harvest. In comparison with the standard of durum wheat ‘Omskaya stepnaya’ (protein content is 14.68%), the huskless samples L 68/10 (16.73 %), L 73/10 (16.16 %), L 74/10 (15.96 %) were classified as high-protein. All listed samples are valuable components for crossing with soft wheat and durum wheat.
