Summary. The investigation was conducted to determine the influence of the growth regulator Regalis on the shoot growth and yield of different apple cultivars. The design of the experiment included the following variants: untreated (standard); single treatment by the regulator at the growth of 5–7 cm with application rate 2.5 kg/ha; double treatment (the first at the growth of 5–7 cm, the second – in four weeks after the first one) with application rate 1.25 kg/ha at each treatment. The field trial was carried out in production plantations of OAO “Dubovoe” (Tambov region) in 2013–2014. Objects of research were apple trees cv. Lobo, Vishnevoe, Orlik, and Spartan grafted on rootstock 62-396. The soil was leached chernozem. Application of Regalis affected growth processes and yield of apple trees. The most shoot decreasing was registered for cv. Vishnevoe. At the double treatment, it was 45.5–60.3 %, at the single one – 36.4–55.7 %. The weakest change of this value was noted for cv. Lobo. At the double treatment, the length of shoots decreased by 36.8–37.0 %, at the single one – on 26.3–32.8 % compared to the standard. The most significant decrease of tree height by application of the growth regulator was also noted on cv. Vishnevoe: the double treatment – by 14.3–31.2 %, with the single one – on 8.9–16.3 %. The minimum change under the effect of the studied factor was registered for the Orlik variety – 7.0–15.3 % and 6.0–9.8 %, correspondingly. The yield of fruits during years of the research in the variants with growth regulator was greater than the value of this indicator in the standard. The highest yield increase was observed for cv. Lobo. At the double treatment it reached 2.11–3.00 t/ha, at the single one – 1.69–1.84 t/ha. The reaction of the Orlik variety was weaker than of the other cultivars, the productivity of it increased by 0.76–1.53 t/ha only at the double treatment and by 0.35–1.00 t/ha – at the single one.
