Abstract. The diversity of natural conditions in the agricultural part of the Minusinsk forest steppe zones has a great influence on soil fertility and the content of nutrients. The area of soils with very low and low content of humus is 22.2 %, with medium and increased content – 53.7 %, with high and very high content – 24.1 %. On 01/01/2016 the weighted average humus content in the layer 0-20 cm was at the level of 6.1 %, which is less by 0.6 % than the initial content (1965-1970). A major factor for the reduction of humus content in soils is the low level of organic fertilizer application, the average dose of them decreased from 3.03 t/ha in 1986-1990 to 0.67 t/ha in 2011-2015. The shares of soils with different provision with mobile phosphorus is the following: very low and low content of mobile phosphorus – 32 %, medium content – 33.2 %, increased content – 20.8 %, high and very high content – 14 %. The weighted average content of mobile phosphorus on 01/01/2016 was 179 mg/kg; over the last 20 years it decreased in almost all districts. The reduction of the volume of application of phosphorus and organic fertilizers caused the formation of the negative balance of phosphorus in agriculture (from -8.8 to -16.9 kg/ha) since 1996. Soils with the high and very high content of exchange potassium prevail in Minusinsk forest-steppe zone (51.8 %); in the rest territory they are characterized by high (28.4 %), medium (14 %), very low and low content (5.8 %) of this element. In different cycles of the survey, the content of exchange potassium remained almost unchanged and was 105-113 mg/kg. Soils with neutral and close to neutral medium reaction occupy 82.2 % of the arable land, with acid one – 17.8 %. The average weighted value of this index varied within 6.1-6.2 pH units over the cycles of the survey. A characteristic feature of the soils of the southern zone of Krasnoyarsk Krai is the low content of mobile forms of zinc (99.4 %), manganese (94.4 %), sulfur (89.4 %), and copper (58.2 %). The pollution by heavy metals, arsenic and water-soluble fluorine was not detected.
